The Rudong solar-hydrogen energy farm located in the tidal flat area of eastern China has officially started operations. Owned by Guohua Energy Investment Co., Ltd., under CHN Energy Investment Group, the project is the largest of its kind in China. Connected to the grid on Dec. 31, 2024, in Rudong County, Jiangsu Province, it integrates photovoltaic power generation, hydrogen production, refueling, and energy storage. Once fully operational in 2025, the 400 MW project is expected to generate 468 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, saving 151,000 tonnes of coal yearly and reducing carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen dioxide emissions significantly. By harnessing coastal resources and advanced technology, the project optimizes energy conversion and storage efficiency.
