EnergyPathways to Lead UK's Hydrogen Storage Business Model Design Group
Key Ideas
  • Britain's DESNZ collaborates with EnergyPathways for Hydrogen Storage Business Model design.
  • EnergyPathways plans to apply for MESH natural gas and green hydrogen storage project in Lancashire.
  • The proposed offshore storage facility could store up to 50 Bcf of gas and 1.5 TWh of green hydrogen.
  • Potential for threefold expansion indicates a significant investment in green hydrogen storage.
The Department of Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) in Britain has invited EnergyPathways to take part in the Hydrogen Storage Business Model (HSBM) Design Group, aiming to define investment support for UK hydrogen storage projects. EnergyPathways intends to apply for the MESH natural gas and green hydrogen storage project off the Lancashire coast. The facility is planned to match the size of Centrica's Rough gas storage site and could store 50 Bcf of gas initially, with a potential threefold expansion to include 1.5 TWh of green hydrogen storage. This initiative signifies a significant step towards promoting green hydrogen infrastructure in the UK.
