Nu:ionic Technologies and XRG Technologies have partnered to introduce the Nu-X platform, featuring the Nu-X Smart Reformer for low-carbon Teal Hydrogen production. The Nu-X Smart Reformer is a compact and modular electrified reactor that eliminates carbon emissions typically associated with traditional hydrogen plants. This technology offers a more cost-effective and environmentally friendly solution, with the potential to reduce natural gas feedstock requirements by up to 40%. By combining this platform with carbon capture solutions, the carbon emissions can be further reduced, resulting in hydrogen with up to a 90% lower carbon footprint compared to conventional processes. The Nu-X Smart Reformer is designed for extended uptime, minimal maintenance, and remote monitoring to ensure safe and efficient operation. Modular units with up to 20 tonnes per day hydrogen capacity are currently in production. The collaboration between Nu:ionic and XRG Technologies aims to provide end users with distributed scale, low-cost, and low-carbon hydrogen production options. This development aligns with Nu:ionic's vision of electrifying industrial processes and offering flexibility in low-cost hydrogen production. In addition to the Nu-X platform, Nu:ionic is also advancing its industrial microwave platform for electrification, including the Microwave Catalytic Reformer technology.
