A new sustainable initiative is set to transform clean energy production in Terrace, B.C., as a clean fuel facility will leverage renewable energy to generate up to 50,000 tonnes of hydrogen annually. Collaborating with the Skeena Industrial Development Park, Source3 Energy X Inc. aims to establish the Skeena Clean Hydrogen Hub, utilizing green and blue hydrogen production methods. The facility plans to address emissions by decarbonizing transportation, steel refining, and mining operations, while also exploring the production of synthetic fuels and sustainable aviation fuel. With carbon capture technology in place, the project is poised to offset emissions through the shipment of captured carbon to markets in Asia or storage in Alberta. The substantial investment of over $1 billion will be sourced through project financing involving private equity firms, a major Canadian utility, and European developers. Source3 Energy X's expansion plans include establishing hydrogen fuel clusters on the east and west coasts of Canada, with projects in Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince George, and Ontario on the horizon. The company's vision encompasses a shift towards sustainable energy practices and economic growth through innovative green technology.
