Gen-Hy, a French start-up specializing in green hydrogen production, has received the Emerging Solution prize at the Hydrogène 2024 awards for their innovative project featuring the zero-gap stack with AEM membrane. Led by CEO Sébastien Le Pollès, Gen-Hy's technology ensures the purity of hydrogen during electrolysis, achieving an impressive efficiency of 85%. By designing their hydrogen generators around the patented Gen-AEM® membrane, Gen-Hy combines environmentally-friendly production with cost-effectiveness. The company is set to launch its 8,000 m2 plant in Montbéliard by the first quarter of 2025, aiming to scale up the production of Gen-AEM® membranes. The award ceremony was part of the 25th Assises Européennes de la Transition Énergétique, recognizing Gen-Hy's contribution to the hydrogen sector's innovation and sustainability. Sébastien Le Pollès expressed gratitude towards the team for their dedication, highlighting the promising technological advancements of Gen-Hy in enhancing the performance/price ratio in the green hydrogen market.
