During His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik’s state visit to Belgium, Oman and Belgium signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration in green hydrogen. The MoU, signed between Hydrogen Oman (Hydrom) and the Belgian Hydrogen Council (BHC), reflects a shared commitment to advance the global hydrogen economy. The signing ceremony, attended by business leaders and policymakers from both nations, emphasized aligning policies, promoting knowledge exchange, and exploring opportunities across the hydrogen value chain. The agreement aims to enhance energy security, create a seamless hydrogen supply chain, and accelerate the transition to clean energy by fostering innovation and infrastructure development. This builds upon 46 years of strong bilateral relations and previous agreements, including the 47-year Project Development Agreement between Hydrom and the Hyport Duqm project. The collaboration under the MoU will focus on knowledge sharing, technology development, and infrastructure planning for hydrogen production and shipping facilities. His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik's engagement underscores Oman's commitment to international partnerships for sustainable development. Hydrom's role as the national orchestrator of Oman’s Green Hydrogen Strategy is central to positioning the nation as a global hydrogen hub.
