Adani Group is embarking on a significant $9 billion investment venture in Kutch, Gujarat, to establish a green hydrogen manufacturing and transportation infrastructure. The project's primary phase involves the production of one million tons of green hydrogen annually through electrolysis of water using renewable energy sources. Furthermore, the plan includes the deployment of specialized ships to export the green hydrogen to both Europe and Asia. This initiative is expected to generate substantial employment opportunities, with projections indicating the creation of between 7,500 to 10,000 new jobs. Adani Group's vision extends beyond green hydrogen, with plans to invest in expanding renewable energy capacity at the Khavda project site over the next five years. Leveraging existing manufacturing capabilities in solar cell, module, ingot-wafer, and wind manufacturing, the conglomerate aims to utilize its ports on the west coast for efficient transportation of green hydrogen and its derivatives. Adani New Industries will orchestrate the export operations, with Mundra port serving as a key hub for exporting products to various destinations including Europe, Singapore, Japan, and Korea. Chairman Gautam Adani has underlined the group's steadfast commitment to energy transition projects, with investment and expansion ventures exceeding $100 billion, positioning Adani Group as a prominent player in the renewable energy and green hydrogen sector.
