As countries prepare to submit the 3rd generation of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), aligning energy commitments with Sustainable Development Goal 7 and achieving a net-zero energy transition is crucial. Sustainable Energy for All and UNDP organized a webinar highlighting strategies to enhance energy commitments within NDCs. The Energy Compacts, launched during the High-Level Dialogue on Energy, have driven significant progress, mobilizing finance, enhancing electricity access, and deploying clean energy. UNDP's Climate Promise 2025 framework aims to support countries in updating their NDCs with ambitious energy targets through enhancing ambition, accelerating climate actions, and ensuring inclusivity. Government representatives from Indonesia and the LAC region shared their experiences in aligning energy and climate goals, focusing on renewable energy integration, decarbonization, and diversifying strategies like green hydrogen. Private sector engagement and innovative tools like the NDC 3.0 Navigator were highlighted as crucial for attracting investments and achieving climate goals.
