AM Green Ammonia BV has announced the Final Investment Decision for its million-tonne green ammonia project in Kakinada, India, with plans to achieve a 5 MTPA capacity by 2030. The project, set to convert an existing urea plant into a green ammonia-producing unit, is aligned with EU RFNBO requirements for green ammonia. The company has secured significant agreements with major players like Uniper and Yara for exporting green ammonia to European markets. Additionally, AM Green has ensured 1,300 MW of carbon-free power supply for its operations through solar, wind hybrid capacity, and other sources. The company aims to play a crucial role in decarbonizing industries such as refineries, shipping, and power generation through its low-cost green molecules. By expanding green ammonia production across India, AM Green is contributing to the country's and OECD markets' net zero targets by 2030.
