Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu virtually inaugurated Hero Future Energies' ₹1,000-crore green hydrogen plant at Rockman Industries in Tirupati, marking a significant milestone in India's clean energy transition. The plant combines green hydrogen with Piped Natural Gas and Liquefied Natural Gas to support industrial heating applications, showcasing a sustainable solution for industrial energy consumption. Powered by a 1.1 MWp rooftop solar plant, the facility features a 300 kW Proton Exchange Membrane electrolyser enabling the blending of green hydrogen in LPG and PNG, promoting cleaner energy usage in industries. Currently producing 25 tons per annum of green hydrogen, the plant plans to expand to 54 tons per annum, emphasizing the company's dedication to sustainability and industrial innovation. The initiative not only aims to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 206 tons per annum but also contributes to releasing 195 tons per annum of oxygen into the atmosphere, supporting global climate goals and India's net-zero ambitions. This green hydrogen project serves as a blueprint for industries looking to integrate hydrogen-based solutions without extensive infrastructure alterations. Through the Andhra Pradesh Integrated Clean Energy Policy - 2024, the state targets significant renewable energy capacity addition and substantial investments in the next five years, cementing its role as a global green hydrogen hub with a focus on exports. With Andhra Pradesh's strategic advantages and industry-friendly policies, the state is poised to lead India's sustainable energy transformation and promote widespread adoption of hydrogen-based solutions across various sectors.
