CHN Energy's Guohua Energy Investment Limited has achieved a milestone by connecting the Rudong Integrated Photovoltaic (PV)-Hydrogen-Storage Project to the grid in Rudong County, Jiangsu Province, China. This project, spanning 287 hectares with a total capacity of 400 MW, integrates PV power generation, hydrogen production, refuelling, and energy storage. Key infrastructure includes a booster station, an energy storage facility, and a hydrogen production and refuelling station. China sees this project as a significant advancement in its hydrogen power development, emphasizing its commitment to hydrogen energy to reduce carbon emissions in sectors like transportation, heavy industry, and energy storage. China, a global leader in renewable energy, is now focusing on accelerating its hydrogen development through large-scale projects and policy initiatives. The nation aims to produce 100,000 to 200,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually by the end of the year and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060. Projects like Rudong showcase China's capability to combine advanced renewable energy technologies with practical applications, promoting hydrogen as a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels.
