Chile's fuel distributor COPEC and German e-Fuel leader INERATEC have joined forces to work on sustainable energy solutions, particularly in the production of e-Fuels. The two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to potentially construct and operate a Power-to-Liquid plant in Chile, with the goal of producing 3,500 tons per annum of e-Fuels. This plant is expected to not only serve the local market but also target global markets, positioning Chile as a renewable fuel production hub. The collaboration builds on COPEC's strong market presence in Chile's diesel distribution and INERATEC's experience in building Power-to-X plants. The CEOs of both companies expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting the potential for significant impact on sustainable energy solutions in the mobility sector. The planned facility, to be operated by INERATEC, will enhance the company's existing activities in Chile and strengthen the value chain from production to distribution. The strategic partnerships with National Petroleum company ENAP and construction company Ferrostaal Chile ensure a sustainable and scalable model for e-Fuel production.
