Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly led a meeting in New Alamein City to assess the development of green hydrogen projects in Egypt. Eng. Randa El-Menshawy, Head of the Technical Secretariat of the National Council for Green Hydrogen, presented efforts to localize the industry, including proposed incentives such as cash investment grants and VAT exemptions. The National Council, established under Prime Ministerial Resolution No. 3445, has developed strategies for hydrogen adoption, with a focus on low-carbon hydrogen. Lands totaling 42,000 square kilometers have been allocated for renewable energy projects in various regions. Currently, 23 green hydrogen projects are ongoing, supported by partnerships with global developers. Notably, 15 binding framework agreements have been signed, indicating significant progress in Egypt's green energy transition.
