Envision Energy, a green-hydrogen firm based in Shanghai, has made a significant investment in Spain's renewable energy future. Alongside the Spanish government, key industry, and financial leaders, Envision will establish Europe's first integrated green hydrogen net zero industrial park. This project will encompass various functions related to green hydrogen production, such as electrolysis, air separation unit, ammonia synthesis, and scalable green ammonia production. By doing so, Envision aims to drive innovation in renewable energy and assist in decarbonizing Spain's hard-to-abate industries. The memorandum of understanding signed during the Spanish Prime Minister's visit to China will accelerate Spain's adoption of green hydrogen and aid in reducing the nation's greenhouse gas emissions by 23% by 2030. Envision plans to develop a state-of-the-art Green Hydrogen Centre of Excellence as part of this initiative, showcasing its commitment to the region and its partners. By investing USD 1 billion initially, Envision and its partners will create 1,000 new green jobs and contribute significantly to Spain's Hydrogen Roadmap targets. The project will involve the production of critical electrolysis equipment needed for green hydrogen production, with a focus on clean energy sources like biomass, solar, and wind power. Construction of the facility is set to begin in 2026, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and green practices. The aim is to create a fully green industrial ecosystem powered by locally generated clean energy. The Center of Excellence will play a vital role in enhancing Spain's green hydrogen-based industrial ecosystem by fostering skills, innovations, and industrial collaborations.
