The European Commissioner for Energy, Kadri Simson, is scheduled to visit Chile on July 1st and 2nd to enhance collaboration in energy matters and reinforce the successful partnership between the European Union (EU) and Chile. The visit will revolve around key areas such as the ratification process of the EU-Chile Advanced Framework Agreement, Chile's advancements in the green hydrogen industry, challenges and opportunities for renewable energy companies, and strategic cooperation on critical raw materials. This visit signifies an important step in energy cooperation between Chile and the EU and follows the recent signing of the EU-Chile Advanced Framework Agreement. It aligns with the EU's Global Gateway strategy, aiming to encourage investment in infrastructure, green energy, education, and research for sustainable development. Commissioner Simson will engage with high-level Chilean officials, including the Minister of Energy, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Executive Vice President of CORFO, to discuss measures for a just transition to renewable energy and review advancements in the Global Gateway Investment Agenda.
