GAIL (India) Limited and AM Green B.V. have entered into a partnership to advance sustainable energy solutions in India. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two companies outlines plans for exploring solar/wind hybrid renewable projects and eMethanol production in the country. The collaboration intends to set up up to 2.5 GW of solar/wind projects to provide Round the Clock power, including supporting Greenko's Pump Storage Projects. Additionally, the partnership will focus on utilizing around 350 KTA CO2 from GAIL's gas processing plants to produce eMethanol, a fuel that reduces carbon emissions. AM Green's efforts in green ammonia production are aligned with India's decarbonization goals and the National Green Hydrogen Mission. AM Green aims to achieve 5 MTPA of green ammonia capacity by 2030 and support India's target for green hydrogen production. The company will establish bio refineries to produce green products for sectors like aviation, fuels, and chemicals to enable global decarbonization. Both companies emphasize the importance of technological innovation, economic growth, and environmental sustainability through their partnership. This collaboration signifies a commitment to promoting clean energy solutions and reducing carbon footprint in India, contributing to a greener energy landscape.
