Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu of Himachal Pradesh virtually presided over the closing ceremony of the International Minjar Fair from Shimla, where he announced the launch of the first green hydrogen-based mobility station in Chamba. The project, with an estimated cost of Rs 14 crore, is part of various developmental projects worth Rs 120.44 crore initiated at the event. The green hydrogen mobility station, to be constructed by the NHPC, will be operational by August 2025 and will include a 300-kilowatt solar power plant to produce green hydrogen for a hydrogen bus. This pioneering project aims to introduce green hydrogen buses to the region, creating awareness about sustainable energy practices. It is expected to boost economic development in Chamba through revenue generation and employment opportunities. The initiative aligns with the state government's vision to make Himachal Pradesh a 'Green Energy State' by 2026, focusing on leveraging green energy sources to meet energy demands. Additionally, plans for a Chamba heliport and the construction of the Chamba-Chowari-Jot tunnel were discussed, highlighting the government's commitment to overall development in the region.
