Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu of Himachal Pradesh chaired a meeting in Shimla to assess the progress of a 1 MW green hydrogen plant construction in Nalagarh, Solan district. The Chief Minister urged officials to accelerate the project, aiming for completion by the end of 2025 to support the state's goal of becoming a Green Energy state by March 2026. He highlighted the importance of green hydrogen as a cleaner alternative to fossil fuels, especially in sectors like transportation, manufacturing, and energy storage. The green hydrogen plant is expected to play a pivotal role in reducing carbon emissions, contributing to environmental conservation. Chief Minister Sukhu also mentioned the positive impact on air quality and ecosystems due to decreased pollutant emissions. The government has been proactive in promoting sustainable initiatives, such as a Green Hydrogen Mobility Station pilot project in Chamba and the establishment of solar power plants. These efforts align with the administration's focus on environmental preservation and sustainable development.
