Honeywell and AM Green have entered into a partnership to investigate the feasibility of producing sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) from ethanol, green methanol, and green hydrogen in India. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) aims to enhance the country's energy security by reducing reliance on crude oil imports and promoting the export of green methanol to support the transition to low-emission fuels in the shipping sector. The collaboration also seeks to help airlines meet CORSIA mandates by providing low-carbon, drop-in fuel alternatives. The study, expected to be completed by mid-2025, is a pivotal move towards large-scale decarbonization in the industrial sector. Honeywell's expertise in carbon capture and ethanol-to-jet technologies, combined with AM Green's proficiency in green hydrogen and ethanol production, is poised to accelerate sustainability efforts in the region. The partnership aligns with India's National Green Hydrogen Mission and aims to boost green methanol production for sectors like shipping, steel, and cement.
