Honeywell has introduced Honeywell Protonium™, an advanced suite of technologies utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to revolutionize the production of green hydrogen. The aim is to make the production process more efficient, cost-effective, and scalable. Aternium, a prominent US clean hydrogen producer, will be the first to adopt Honeywell Protonium™ at its planned Mid-Atlantic Clean Hydrogen Hub (MACH2), supported by the US Department of Energy. This initiative aligns with the increasing energy demands of industries and the necessity to diversify energy sources. The new solution tackles key challenges in green hydrogen production such as power intermittency, carbon intensity reduction, and high costs by enhancing electrolysis efficiency and optimizing plant design and operations through predictive control algorithms. Aternium's CEO, Andrew Cottone, highlighted the strategic decision to choose Honeywell Protonium™ to ensure high efficiency and safety standards.
