Solar Energy Corp. of India (SECI) has signed an MoU with Germany's H2Global Stiftung to collaborate on promoting green hydrogen initiatives. This partnership will facilitate the exchange of knowledge on market-based mechanisms and cooperation between India and other hydrogen-importing countries. SECI, as the implementing agency for India's Green Hydrogen Transition program, has already issued tenders for various green hydrogen projects. Additionally, European countries like Austria, Lithuania, and Spain have announced substantial financial support for renewable hydrogen projects, along with EU funding from the Innovation Fund.
On the technological front, companies like Uniper, Electric Hydrogen, Sunfire, and Hystar are making significant strides in developing electrolyzer plants and green hydrogen projects. For example, Uniper has chosen Electric Hydrogen as its partner for a 200 MW PEM electrolyzer plant in Germany, while Sunfire is set to deliver electrolyzer capacity to a plant in Finland. Hystar, in collaboration with other partners, has inaugurated the HyPilot project in Norway, showcasing a containerized PEM electrolyzer system.
In parallel, Flexens has announced a forthcoming offshore oxygen injection pilot project, and Syensqo has introduced a new fluoro-ionomer for hydrogen applications. These initiatives collectively highlight the growing global interest in green hydrogen and the concerted efforts across industries and countries to drive the transition towards a more sustainable energy future.
