The Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy, Shri Pralhad Joshi, oversaw the signing of an agreement for the export of Green Ammonia from India to Japan, marking a significant milestone in India's green energy journey. The Heads of Terms (HoT) agreement involved Sembcorp Industries, Sojitz Corporation, Kyushu Electric Power Co., and NYK Line, solidifying a partnership for cross-border green ammonia supply. Sembcorp Industries will lead green ammonia production in India, while Kyushu Electric Power Co. will incorporate it into their energy mix in Japan. Sojitz Corporation will facilitate business connections, and NYK Line will handle maritime transportation. The Minister highlighted India's rapid progress in green hydrogen and renewable energy, emphasizing a commitment to becoming a global leader in these sectors. The agreement signifies India's expanding capabilities in the green energy domain, with tenders for significant Green Ammonia production underway.
