Amara Raja Infra, a part of the Amara Raja Group, has completed the setup of India's first green hydrogen fuelling station in Leh, Ladakh, for NTPC Ltd. This initiative aims to enable emission-free transport in and around Leh, establishing India as a leading country in the green mobility space. The station, with a capacity of producing 80kg of green hydrogen per day, was inaugurated by the Union Minister of Power, Housing, and Urban Affairs. The project includes operationalizing five hydrogen fuel cell buses, showcasing a shift towards sustainable transportation. Despite facing extreme conditions at a height of 3,400 meters above sea level with varying temperatures, the project was completed in two years. This achievement reaffirms Amara Raja Infra's EPC expertise and marks their entry into the green hydrogen infrastructure space. The project serves as a precursor to future large-scale green hydrogen mobility and storage projects in India, aligning with the National Hydrogen Energy Mission. The station's installation and future deployment are essential for studying and implementing hydrogen infrastructure for sustainable energy solutions across the country.
