Tecnimont Private Limited, a subsidiary of Tecnimont, and NEXTCHEM have jointly launched India's inaugural green hydrogen production plant in Vijaipur, Madhya Pradesh, catering to GAIL India Limited. The project, initiated in May 2022, is a collaboration that highlights a significant advancement in India's pursuit of a low-carbon energy landscape. With a capacity to generate 4.3 tons of green hydrogen daily using 10 megawatt electrolysers, the facility positions GAIL as a pioneering utility in megawatt-scale green hydrogen manufacturing. This endeavor supports India's Hydrogen Mission, striving to attain a green hydrogen output of 5 million tons annually by 2030. It aligns with the broader national goal of energy independence by 2047 and reaching Net Zero by 2070. Green hydrogen plays a pivotal role in the energy transition, offering versatile applications in renewable energy storage, industrial fuel substitution, clean transport, decentralized power generation, aviation, and marine transportation. The successful establishment of the Vijaipur plant will serve as a blueprint for NEXTCHEM's future sustainable ventures in India, as mentioned by Alessandro Bernini, the CEO of MAIRE Group, expressing pride in the milestone achievement. Bernini emphasized that this accomplishment places MAIRE at the forefront of sustainable solutions in India, underpinned by a dedicated workforce exceeding 3,000 individuals.
