Gensol Engineering Limited and Matrix Gas & Renewables Limited have revealed a partnership to establish India’s first Green Hydrogen Valley in Pune, Maharashtra. This project aims to supply green hydrogen to the specialty chemical industry continuously for the next two decades. The initiative, facilitated by the National Chemicals Laboratories in the Kurkumbh region, will operate on a Build Own and Operate (BOO) model. Through a competitive tender process, Gensol and Matrix were chosen as the best bidders both technically and commercially. Anmol Jaggi, the Managing Director of Gensol Engineering Ltd, stressed the significance of this project in advancing India’s green hydrogen economy. Chirag Kotecha, the Whole-time Director at Matrix Gas and Renewables Ltd, underlined their dedication to India’s net-zero objectives and the National Green Hydrogen Mission. This collaboration is in line with the Indian government's initiatives to promote Hydrogen Valleys, particularly through the Department of Science & Technology (DST). The project is expected to play a pivotal role in fostering green hydrogen generation concepts, applications, and research and development facilities in the country.
