Tecnimont Private Limited, in collaboration with NEXTCHEM, has unveiled the inaugural green hydrogen production plant for GAIL (India) Limited in Vijaipur, Madhya Pradesh. This plant, equipped with a 10-megawatt electrolysis unit, will generate 4.3 tons of green hydrogen daily. The project, awarded in May 2022, is a significant step towards India's target of achieving 5 million tons of annual green hydrogen production by 2030 as part of the National Green Hydrogen Mission. The aim is to utilize green hydrogen for renewable energy storage, industrial fuel substitution, clean transport, and decentralized power generation. This endeavor not only propels India towards energy independence by 2047 but also contributes to the country's ambition of reaching Net Zero emissions by 2070. The Vijaipur facility is set to become a pivotal site for NEXTCHEM's forthcoming energy transition ventures throughout India.
