Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has initiated a bidding process for the production and supply of green ammonia in India through a cost-based competitive approach under the SIGHT program. The program aims to facilitate the transition to green hydrogen by encouraging the domestic manufacturing of electrolyzers and the production of green hydrogen. The National Green Hydrogen Mission, sanctioned by the Union Cabinet, has allocated substantial funds for this initiative, with a focus on promoting green ammonia production in the country. Bidders participating in the process are required to meet various financial criteria, including document fees, bid processing fees, and performance bank guarantees, to ensure the success and sustainability of the projects. The program also emphasizes the importance of meeting annual production and supply requirements while providing flexibility for force majeure events. Additionally, bidders must showcase a significant net worth to demonstrate their financial capacity for the proposed production and supply activities. In parallel, SECI has also called for bids for a solar power project in Leh, Ladakh, indicating the government's commitment to advancing renewable energy infrastructure in the region.
