A significant project in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, India, is set to revolutionize the production of green hydrogen and green ammonia. AM Green India has selected Rely for an EPsCm contract for a 2 x 1500 tons per day (TPD) Green Ammonia Complex, featuring 2 x 640MW Pressured Alkaline Electrolysers for green hydrogen production. This project, reaching the final investment decision in August 2024, is a major step towards decarbonization and clean energy transition. The facility will convert an existing Grey Ammonia facility to a Green Ammonia facility, strategically located at the Kakinada seaport in Andhra Pradesh. The project aims to deliver 1 million tons per annum of RED3 RFNBO compliant Green Ammonia, with most of the production destined for the European market. The facility will utilize a combination of wind, solar power, and pumped hydro storage system to ensure round-the-clock carbon-free power. Rely will provide comprehensive services for the facility, including electrolyzers for Green Hydrogen Production, air separation units, ammonia synthesis trains, and offsite utilities. The collaboration between AM Green and Rely highlights the commitment to achieving net-zero targets in India and OECD markets, with a focus on green hydrogen production. The project is not only a technological advancement but also a significant contribution to India's green hydrogen mission and global climate goals.
