India's NTPC Green Energy is set to develop a massive $22.3 billion green hydrogen hub in Andhra Pradesh as part of the National Green Hydrogen Mission. This initiative aims to contribute significantly towards India's target of achieving 500GW capacity by 2030. The hub, named 'NTPC Green Energy LTD Green Hydrogen Hub,' will boast a production capability of 1,500 tonnes of green hydrogen and 7,500 tonnes of derivatives daily. These derivatives will include green methanol, green urea, and sustainable aviation fuel. The hub will also have a 20GW renewable energy capacity, making it one of the largest integrated green hydrogen production facilities in India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the plans for the hub, highlighting India's commitment to green energy and the increasing demand for hydrogen in the country, evident from oversubscribed auctions. The project aligns with India's efforts to strengthen its existing green solutions and signifies a proactive approach towards sustainability and renewable energy. The hub's production, including export-oriented derivatives, marks a significant step towards a greener economy and showcases India's ambition in the global green energy landscape.
