New Delhi is preparing to host the 2nd International Conference on Green Hydrogen (ICGH-2024) from September 11-13, 2024, at Bharat Mandapam. The event is a significant step in India's journey towards becoming a global leader in the green hydrogen sector. Over 6,000 participants, including global leaders, industry experts, and innovators, will convene to discuss advancements in green hydrogen technologies and strategies for scaling up production. The conference, organized by the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, will focus on showcasing India's progress in the green hydrogen space under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Notable achievements include the National Green Hydrogen Mission's advancements and the issuance of tenders for green hydrogen and green ammonia production, with pilot projects planned in key sectors. Additionally, a new R&D scheme has been launched to support research activities in the sector. The event will feature competitions like the GH2thon hackathon, Scientific Poster Competition Finals, and the Green Hydrogen Quiz Finale to foster innovation and engagement. Special attention will be given to youth engagement through a session titled 'Green Hydrogen for Youth,' aiming to inspire the next generation of renewable energy leaders. International collaboration is a key focus of ICGH-2024, with sessions dedicated to exploring practical applications in transportation and energy, financing, infrastructure development, and youth engagement. The conference aims to accelerate India's green hydrogen journey, with the United States participating as a partner country, highlighting strong global cooperation. High-level dialogues, including the CEOs' Roundtable, will bring together industry leaders to discuss challenges and opportunities in the green hydrogen sector. Overall, ICGH-2024 seeks to drive impactful outcomes that will shape India's energy future and contribute to global efforts towards a sustainable energy transition.
