ITM Power has secured a significant milestone by being appointed as the technology provider and gaining a Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) contract for a 50MW green hydrogen production site in the European Union. The project, led by an undisclosed experienced green hydrogen plant developer, will involve the deployment of ten NEPTUNE V units, which are 5MW containerised electrolyser plants ideal for mid-sized projects. Scheduled to kick off production in the latter half of 2027, the plant aims to generate around 5,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually to cater to local industries. Dennis Schulz, the CEO, expressed enthusiasm at the selection, highlighting the company's recent launch of NEPTUNE V earlier in the year. The FEED process is expected to pave the way for a Final Investment Decision in 2025, signifying a positive outlook for the growth of mid-sized green hydrogen projects in the near future.
