JSW Infrastructure Ltd, India’s second-largest port operator, is considering venturing into the green hydrogen and ammonia market by potentially constructing plants at its ports. The company's joint managing director, Arun Maheshwari, mentioned that they have been approached by interested parties in this sector and are evaluating the feasibility. The Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways has earmarked key ports like Kandla, Paradip, and Tuticorin to become export hubs for green hydrogen and ammonia, with a vision to establish India as a significant exporter in the next seven years. Adani Ports & SEZ has also announced plans to supply clean fuels like hydrogen and ammonia from its Vizhinjam Port. Additionally, JSW Infra's sister concern, JSW Energy, is exploring green energy acquisitions. JSW Infra is concentrating on last-mile connectivity and customer solutions to drive growth. The company foresees an increase in third-party business and aims for a sustainable 50:50 ratio with anchor customers. Capacity additions and new terminals are part of the company's growth strategy, with a focus on operational efficiency and utilization goals.
