Several leading companies, including L&T Energy, Waaree Clean Energy, Reliance Green Hydrogen, and AM Green, have emerged as top bidders for government incentives under the second tranche of the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) scheme in India. Financial bids were opened in January 2025, with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) yet to issue official awards. Apart from the top bidders, companies like Suryadeep KA1, GH2 Solar, and Green Infra Renewable also secured incentives for their proposed green hydrogen capacity bids. The total capacity bid of 6,22,500 tonnes per annum exceeded the government's offer of 4,50,000 tpa. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy allocated ₹5,400 crore for this phase of the SIGHT scheme, part of India's National Green Hydrogen Mission with a total outlay of ₹17,490 crore. This initiative aims to promote green hydrogen and electrolyser production, driving India's commitment to green energy. The SIGHT programme seeks to establish India as a global green hydrogen manufacturing hub, with government incentives catalyzing investments and innovation in the sector, supporting the transition to cleaner energy sources.
