French company Lhyfe has announced plans to build a 10MW green hydrogen plant in Vaggeryd, located in Jönköping County, southern Sweden. The project, which has secured €11 million in funding from Sweden's Environmental Protection Agency and the Klimatklivet climate investment program, is expected to have a significant impact on the region's energy landscape. The plant will have the capacity to produce up to 4.4 tonnes of green hydrogen per day, catering to local refuelling stations, industrial heating needs, and production processes. With an aim to commence hydrogen production by 2027, pending necessary approvals, this venture represents a major step towards sustainable energy solutions. This initiative marks Lhyfe's second green hydrogen plant in Sweden, following a similar project in Trelleborg. Sara Wihlborg, the Country Manager of Lhyfe in Sweden, emphasized the importance of this project in ensuring a competitive supply of green hydrogen for industrial clients in the country. The funding received will cover development, design, equipment, and construction costs, representing a substantial portion of the total investment. With the global interest in hydrogen rising, projects like the one by Lhyfe contribute to the advancement of green technologies and sustainable practices.
