Larsen & Toubro (L&T), a prominent Indian multinational EPC solutions provider, has announced the establishment of a dedicated business vertical for renewable energy projects within its Infrastructure Projects segment. The company's senior vice president, A. Ravindran, has been appointed as the head of the newly formed renewable business division. L&T's chairman & managing director, S.N. Subrahmanyan, emphasized the accelerated growth of the renewable EPC business in recent years and highlighted the organization's strategic positioning in creating sustainable energy infrastructure. India's focus on promoting renewable energy sources aligns well with L&T's vision for sustainable growth. The company already boasts an extensive portfolio of 22 GWp in renewable EPC projects globally, including solar, wind, and energy storage installations. L&T is actively involved in key projects in regions like the Middle East, SAARC, ASEAN, CIS, and African countries, capitalizing on the increasing demand for renewable energy solutions. In addition to its ongoing projects in solar and wind energy, L&T is venturing into green hydrogen plant construction, including involvement in one of the world’s largest green hydrogen plants at NEOM. The company is executing major solar projects in Saudi Arabia, including the Ar Rass and Sudair solar plants, with plans for additional capacity expansion. L&T is also contributing to renewable infrastructure projects in the UAE and India, such as the Omkareshwar floating solar project and the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park in Dubai. The creation of the renewable EPC business division by L&T aims to enhance management visibility, integrate resources effectively, and meet the evolving demands of the energy transition. Through this strategic move, L&T intends to solidify its position as a preferred partner for customers seeking sustainable energy solutions.
