Amit Sharma, the Secretary of IT, Transport, Rural Development, Science & Technology, and other departments, visited Ladakh to inspect the nation's first Green Hydrogen Mobility Project in Palam area of Leh. He has been actively involved in driving this project in Ladakh for over a year, focusing on the production of Green Hydrogen and the deployment of five Hydrogen Cell Fuel Buses in the region. During the visit, Sharma set timelines for completion of various project components and discussed the contribution of the project in making Ladakh the first Carbon Neutral region in India. The Head Engineer of NTPC Ladakh presented the unique design and structure of the project to Sharma. The Secretary also emphasized the initiative to bottle medical oxygen as a byproduct of extracting Hydrogen to address the low oxygen levels in Ladakh. The project, aimed at being a significant scientific achievement, is being closely monitored for expedited completion and timely inauguration.
