Norwegian companies Norwegian Hydrogen and Glocal Green have solidified their partnership to develop hydrogen production in conjunction with Glocal Green's bio-methanol plant in Øyer, Norway. The collaboration focuses on utilizing low-grade biological residual materials and by-products from various sectors to produce bio-methanol, termed bio-e-methanol, by incorporating hydrogen into the production process. This method optimizes green carbon usage, resulting in a significant increase in methanol production volume. The joint venture plans to produce 150,000 tons of bio-e-methanol annually along with 15,000 tons of green hydrogen, with intentions to expand similar projects within the Nordic region. The initiative underscores a strategic move towards achieving sustainable energy solutions and meeting the escalating demand for environmentally friendly fuels. By merging expertise and resources, the companies aim to offer competitive green liquid hydrogen carriers that cater to diverse industries, promoting a cost-effective transition to eco-friendly alternatives.
