Norwegian Hydrogen has announced an investment in a new green hydrogen production facility in Rjukan, Telemark, Norway, as part of its strategy to expand green hydrogen production in the Nordic region. The plant, expected to be completed by the end of 2027 with a 25MW electrolysis capacity, aims to become one of the largest in the Nordics. The company plans to supply green hydrogen to customers in southern Norway and parts of Sweden, contributing to the region's green transition. Leveraging a long-term power purchase agreement with Tinn Energi and a partnership with Nel for an electrolysis plant supported by the EU Innovation Fund, Norwegian Hydrogen is set to establish Rjukan as a central hub for green hydrogen. The acquisition of the project from Aker Horizons further solidifies Norwegian Hydrogen's position in the green hydrogen sector, demonstrating its commitment to sustainability and clean energy solutions for industrial segments. With ongoing projects and facilities in Norway and Denmark, Norwegian Hydrogen is actively driving the growth of green hydrogen production in the region, with plans for future expansions and collaborations to enhance the clean energy landscape.
