Ohmium International, a green hydrogen company, has officially launched a 2GW gigafactory near Bengaluru, India. The facility, situated in Doddaballapura, will manufacture hyper modular PEM electrolysers to cater to the growing global demand for green hydrogen. The company aims to scale up production to 4GW in response to market needs. Minister MB Patil emphasized the significance of clean energy production for sustainable development and job creation. The unit enables the generation of green hydrogen, a clean fuel vital for India's energy transition. Green hydrogen can be utilized in various sectors like fertiliser production, steel manufacturing, and transportation, offering a zero-carbon footprint solution. Ohmium CEO Arne Ballantine expressed pride in the new gigafactory, highlighting the potential to reduce four million tons of CO2 emissions yearly.
