During a state visit to Belgium, Oman and Belgium signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen their collaboration in the green hydrogen sector. The agreement, established between Hydrogen Oman (Hydrom) and the Belgian Hydrogen Council (BHC), focuses on enhancing cooperation in hydrogen production, infrastructure, transportation, and utilization. Both countries are committed to driving the global hydrogen economy forward, with Oman's renewable energy resources positioning it as a potential hub for green hydrogen production and Belgium's role as a significant hydrogen industrial hub in Europe. The partnership aims to improve energy security and establish a seamless global hydrogen supply chain. This agreement extends the long-standing relationship between Oman and Belgium, emphasizing green energy collaboration. Initially, the focus will be on knowledge sharing, technology development, and planning hydrogen production and shipping infrastructure. Additionally, Oman's dedication to green hydrogen, under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, is highlighted. The partnership with Belgium is expected to enhance Oman's global leadership in hydrogen innovation, driving sustainable energy solutions and fostering research and development in the hydrogen industry.
