In a significant strategic move, Reliance Industries led by Mukesh Ambani has made two key announcements. Anant Ambani, the youngest child of Mukesh and Nita Ambani, has been appointed as the whole-time executive director of Reliance Industries for a period of five years starting from May 1, 2025. Anant has been actively involved in various Reliance Group companies and now takes on a more prominent role within the conglomerate. This move follows the appointment of Mukesh Ambani's three children as non-executive directors on the board of Reliance Industries previously. Anant Ambani's new role as an executive director marks a significant development within the family and the company. Simultaneously, Reliance Industries has acquired Kandla GHA Transmission Limited (KGTL), a company focused on green hydrogen production. This acquisition aims to strengthen Reliance's position in the renewable energy sector. KGTL, which was incorporated in India in late 2024, is set to become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Reliance Industries. The transaction, aligned with Reliance's green energy initiatives, is slated for completion by the end of June 2025.
