The National Planning Commission (NPC) director general and chairperson of the Green Hydrogen Council, Obeth Kandjoze, emphasized the importance of young Namibians capitalizing on the emerging prospects within the green hydrogen sector. Kandjoze highlighted that the youth must focus on the unfolding opportunities to prevent external entities from dominating the sector. He stressed the significance of supporting the youth in pursuing these opportunities, suggesting financial aid for educational pursuits. Hyphen Hydrogen Energy's senior economic development manager, Johannes Shipepe, further reiterated the array of employment opportunities available in the industry, emphasizing the firm's commitment to developing green hydrogen projects both locally and internationally. The meeting held in Omuthiya aimed to educate various stakeholders, including local officials, business representatives, and youth, about the advantages of engaging in green hydrogen initiatives. It also showcased Hyphen's role as the preferred developer for the initial phase of a green hydrogen project in Tsau //Khaeb National Park, demonstrating progress towards sustainable energy practices in Namibia.
