Sembcorp Industries, in a significant move, has inked two non-binding MoUs with the Government of Odisha to explore the establishment of a green hydrogen production facility in the state. The MoUs were signed by Sembcorp's subsidiaries, Sembcorp Green Hydrogen India Pvt Ltd (SGHIPL) and Sembcorp Development Ltd, in the presence of esteemed dignitaries from Singapore and Odisha. The collaboration aims to develop a production facility for green hydrogen and its derivatives, with a substantial projected capacity. This initiative is expected to create over 2,000 job opportunities during its operational phase, thereby contributing to employment generation in Odisha. Additionally, Sembcorp Development Ltd signed a separate MoU with Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation to explore the potential for establishing an industrial park in the region. These agreements underscore the commitment to bolstering bilateral collaboration between Singapore and India, with a specific emphasis on sustainability. Odisha's role as a crucial player in India's transition to a low-carbon future is highlighted due to its abundant resources and favorable investment environment.
