Siemens has announced a strategic partnership with China-based Guofu Hydrogen and Germany-based RCT GH Hydrogen to advance the global expansion of green hydrogen technology. The collaboration aims to focus on developing and manufacturing electrolysers and green hydrogen production to accelerate the adoption of low-emissions hydrogen. A recent report from the IEA underscores the growing momentum for hydrogen but highlights challenges such as high prices and supply chain constraints in the electrolyser manufacturing sector. The partnership will target three key areas: advancing Guofu's electrolysers and systems, establishing new manufacturing facilities in Germany, and constructing and operating hydrogen production plants. RCT GH Hydrogen will oversee the construction of hydrogen production facilities to ensure top standards, while Siemens will provide technology solutions through its Siemens Xcelerator portfolio, facilitating digital integration and automation throughout the value chain. The collaboration also aims to create a global hydrogen partner ecosystem to drive innovation and standardization in the industry. Siemens' commitment to green hydrogen production is emphasized by its CEO of process automation, Axel Lorenz, who believes the partnership will set new standards for electrolyser manufacturing efficiency and scalability.
