Yara has signed an exclusive agreement with ATOME to offtake all the green hydrogen-based fertilisers produced by ATOME's 145MW project in Villeta, Paraguay, starting from 2027. This agreement includes a long-term supply of 264,000 tonnes per year of calcium ammonium nitrate (CAN) as part of Yara's 'Yara Climate Choice' portfolio. The project, powered by hydropower from the Itaipu hydroelectric dam, aims to displace up to 15 million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) over its lifetime, contributing to carbon reduction efforts.
