At the Farnborough Airshow, Airbus and aircraft lessor Avolon have announced a partnership to explore the potential of hydrogen-powered aircraft through the ZEROe Project. The collaboration will focus on researching how these aircraft could be financed, commercialized, and supported by the leasing business model. This initiative is part of Airbus' significant efforts to introduce hydrogen-powered aircraft and create a viable hydrogen ecosystem to reduce emissions in the aviation industry. Airbus is actively engaging with partners globally to develop the hydrogen ecosystem and has launched the 'Hydrogen Hub at Airports' program to expand hydrogen infrastructure. The company is also in discussions with several airlines to study the deployment of hydrogen-powered aircraft.
