Anglo-Eastern and Windcat have announced an expanded partnership to manage Windcat’s fleet of dual-fuel hydrogen-powered Commissioning Service Operation Vessels (CSOVs). This collaboration aims to promote clean energy technology in the offshore sector, with a focus on sustainability and innovation. The agreement involves Anglo-Eastern Technical Services overseeing the construction of six CSOVs at Damen Shipyards in Ha Long, Vietnam. These vessels, scheduled for delivery to Windcat Offshore, will cater to offshore energy commissioning and services, equipped with dual-fuel hydrogen engines to reduce emissions. The CSOVs, designed to operate in offshore wind farms for extended periods, will feature accommodations for 90 technicians and essential maintenance materials. Windcat and CMB.TECH are pioneering the use of hydrogen technology, following the successful launch of the world’s first hydrogen-powered Crew Transfer Vessel, Hydrocat. This move aligns with CMB.TECH's dedication to decarbonizing the shipping industry, emphasizing a sustainable future for maritime operations. The partnership reflects a shared vision between Anglo-Eastern and Windcat to drive the industry towards eco-friendly solutions. Through this collaboration, both companies aim to lead the way in clean energy adoption and set a new standard in offshore operations.
