Doosan Energy Chairman, Park Ji-won, was recently honored with the 2024 Korea Resource Economics Association Academic Award for Energy Grand Prize. The award was presented in recognition of his pivotal role in localizing major equipment manufacturing for large nuclear power plants and gas turbines. Chairman Park expressed his gratitude for the recognition and emphasized the importance of contributing to the domestic carbon-free energy industry. Doosan Enerville's achievements include the successful development of large gas turbines in collaboration with numerous domestic partners, investing over KRW 1 trillion in technology development. The company plans to further expand its business by targeting orders exceeding 7 trillion won related to gas turbines in Korea over the next five years. Additionally, Doosan Enerville aims to develop a hydrogen turbine for super-large power generation using 100% hydrogen as fuel by 2027. Furthermore, the company has played a significant role in localizing the APR1400 cycle, a Korean standard large-scale nuclear power plant, and has supplied nuclear reactors and steam generators to several countries worldwide. Doosan Enerville is actively engaged in exporting key equipment for small module nuclear power plants. The Korea Resource Economics Association, established in 1987, has been instrumental in researching and promoting economic theories, policies, and technologies related to natural resources, energy, and the environment. Since 2003, the association has been honoring individuals who have contributed to the development of the domestic energy industry by awarding the prestigious Energy Industry Grand Prize.
