Doosan Group has entered into a collaboration with Korea Southern Power to work on the development of an eco-friendly power plant in Sejong City. The agreement, signed at the Shinsejong Bit Dream Headquarters, aims to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of the power plant. The project involves incorporating technologies from Doosan Fuel Cell and Doosan Energy at the Shinsejong Bit Dream headquarters cogeneration plant. The cogeneration plant, operational since June last year, is capable of producing 630MW of electricity and 340Gcal/h of heat using liquefied natural gas (LNG). As part of the collaboration, the companies plan to develop a cogeneration mode utilizing hydrogen fuel cells up to 40MW to achieve optimal comprehensive efficiency and enhance automatic power generation control technology for system stability. Lee Seung-joon, managing director of Doosan Fuel Cell, highlighted the significance of the MOU in creating new eco-friendly business models with increased power generation efficiency. The partnership aims to not only complete the development successfully but also explore synergies with other companies in the sector. Future plans include the formation of a consultative body to consider integrating the technology into other cogeneration plants and maintaining collaborative relationships for continuous improvement.
