EGAT's governor, Thepparat Theppitak, announced a strategic collaboration with BIG to optimize hydrogen storage and transportation for power generation. This initiative is part of EGAT's commitment to clean energy and achieving Net Zero Emissions. The partnership aims to modernize energy infrastructure by incorporating hydrogen as a fuel, thereby reducing carbon dioxide emissions from power plants. The collaboration will span two years and focus on evaluating the engineering and economic feasibility of hydrogen usage, including cost assessments, proposing models, and identifying necessary measures. BIG, with expertise from its parent company Air Products, is dedicated to advancing hydrogen energy production to combat carbon dioxide emissions. Piyabut Charuphen, BIG's managing director, emphasized the company's commitment to a cleaner future through hydrogen energy. This collaboration signifies a significant step towards sustainable power generation in Thailand.
